Kia EV6 awarded by TIME magazine

The Kia EV6 has been recognised amongst the TIME Best Inventions of 2023 within the Transportation category. The annual list, which has been compiled for over two decades, is made up of 200 extraordinary inventions, including new products and ideas, that the editors of TIME magazine
have identified as life changing.
Since its launch the Kia EV6 has defied expectations thanks to the manner in which it combines Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy with their focus on sustainable mobility in conjunction with supercar power and performance.
The arrival of the EV6 GT, the most powerful Kia production vehicle yet produced, marked a new era for electrification and the Kia brand. The EV6 GT raises the threshold of performance for the EV6 line up, with a dual motor e:AWD powertrain that sends power to all four wheels. An energy-dense 77.4-kWh Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese battery pack serves a front-mounted 160kW motor, combined with a rear-mounted 270kW motor that produces a combined power output of 430kW and 740Nm of torque.
The performance upgrades that define the EV6 GT include dedicated sport suspension with electronically controlled dampers and unique front suspension performance components. Traction and stability are enhanced by an electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD) when cornering, by directing torque to the wheels with the most grip.
The EV6 GT introduces GT Drive Mode, My Drive Mode and Drift Mode in addition to the Eco, Normal, Sport and Snow drive modes offered on other EV6 models. With the push of a button on the steering wheel, GT Drive Mode optimises the performance of the EV6 GT’s motors, braking, steering, suspension, e-LSD and Electronic Stability Control systems in their most dynamic settings.
The styling of the EV6 GT is rooted in Kia’s Opposites United design philosophy that fuses cues and inspirations from the contrasts found in nature and everyday life. A front and rear fascia unique to the GT emphasises vehicle width while a rear aero spoiler and diffuser complete the GT transformation. 21-inch alloy wheels with neon-accented brake callipers hint at the high-performance credentials and stopping power of the EV6 GT.
The interior boasts vegan suede-trimmed, deeply bolstered performance front bucket seats. Premium touches include neon accents and a striped motif on the upper dashboard and front centre armrest. Ambient lighting across the door panels, centre console and dashboard delivers a soothing glow.
As part of Kia’s overall commitment to safety, the Kia EV6 is fitted with a comprehensive list of 20 standard active Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
