The annual J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study analysed responses from 93 380 completed surveys from respondents with regards to 33 brands and 200 vehicle models across 28 segments. Vehicles were evaluated on driving experience, infotainment, powertrain, interior and exterior as well as a range of issues as reported by vehicle owners.
As the most awarded brand by J.D Power across both the 2023 J.D Power APEAL and IQS studies, Kia has demonstrated their leadership position in both the automotive industry and the electrification sector with Kia’s world class vehicles delivering the quality reliability and technology that consumers are looking for. The 2023 U.S APEAL study is based on responses from 84 555 owners of new 2023 model year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership.
In the recent J.D Power U.S. Initial Quality Study Kia America also took home the highest number of awards with four Kia nameplates achieving segment honours. The best performing models included the Rio in the small car category, Forte in the compact car category, Stinger in the midsize premium category and Carnival in the minivan category. Kia’s exceptional performance builds on the brands straight three years of being ranked as number one mass market brand in the J.D Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study and these awards illustrate Kia’s long-term commitment to quality, reliability and durability.
Kia America has set a new record for the highest total number of awards ever earned in a single year by a brand in the J.D. Power 2023 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) study when seven Kia models ranked number one in their segments, the most awarded to a single manufacturer in the study’s 28-year history. This follows Kia taking home the highest number of awards in the J.D. power 2023 Initial Quality Study announced last month.
